Bio

I have been involved in sports my entire life. In high school I played football, baseball, and track. My junior year I decided to start doing strongman competitions. I loved the odd object events, working with a great coach and competing alongside one of my best friends. I am about to graduate from EIU with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. In the fall, I will be a Graduate Assistant at EIU in the master’s program for Exercise Physiology. After that I plan on obtaining my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and working in the area. After graduating high school, I quickly found out that training on my own was not something I enjoyed. I quickly gained a lot of weight and my strength significantly decreased. I then got an email about joining CrossFit. I thought to myself “CrossFit? Why would I want to do that?” But I gave it a try and I have been hooked ever since. The changes that I have made since starting at CrossFit 217 in 2018 are tremendous. When starting I could barely run ½ mile without stopping to walk, I had never done a snatch in my life, and anything involving gymnastics was out of the question.  CrossFit is without a doubt one of the best exercise programs I have ever been a part of. It challenges me constantly and give some another chance to compete. I also love the gym family that it has given me. They are some of the most welcoming and encouraging people I have ever met. They are the one of the reasons I wanted to start coaching to begin with. I want to help people become the best version of themselves they can be. I cannot wait to start coaching and see others meet and exceed their fitness goals and be a part of the CrossFit family.
